Job Description
What You ll DoCulinary CraftsmanshipPrepare and execute menu items with precision, consistency, and attention to detail, ensuring each dish reflects our elevated standardsPerform all prep functions including washing, chopping, slicing, mixing, seasoning, and portioning with care and efficiencyMaintain strict adherence to recipes, presentation standards, and portion controlsExecute multiple orders simultaneously in a fast-paced, quality-driven environmentFood Safety & QualityUphold the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling at all timesCarefully manage allergen protocols, ensuring all modifications are communicated and executed accuratelyProperly store, label, and rotate all food products in accordance with safety guidelinesKitchen OperationsSupport efficient setup and breakdown of kitchen stations including saut , grill, pantry, and prep areasSafely operate and maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring a clean and organized workspaceComplete side work and closing duties with accuracy and accountabilityGuest Experience & Team CollaborationContribute to a culture of excellence by supporting team members and collaborating across departmentsPlay a role in creating memorable guest experiences through consistency, care, and attention to detailRemain informed on menu offerings, seasonal changes, and daily featuresProfessional StandardsMaintain a polished and professional presence, representing Black Walnut Inn & Vineyard and the Foley Collection brandParticipate in pre-shift meetings and ongoing training to continuously elevate performancePromptly communicate any guest concerns, safety issues, or operational challenges to leadershipQualificationsPrior culinary experience preferred, ideally in a restaurant, boutique hotel, or luxury hospitality environmentBasic knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen operationsAbility to multitask and perform under pressure while maintaining quality standardsStrong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset Working knowledge of POS systems and kitchen workflows preferred Must be available to work a minimum of three shifts per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays What Sets You ApartA passion for seasonal, locally inspired cuisine and wine country hospitality A strong work ethic with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement The ability to remain calm, focused, and solutions-oriented in a fast-paced environment A genuine desire to be part of a collaborative, guest-focused team Physical & Work EnvironmentThis is an active, hands-on role requiring standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
