General Purpose Creates menus and prepares food. Determines appropriate type and quantities of food to be prepared. Purchases necessary ingredients and supplies to prepare meals.
Responsibilities Ability to prepare and serve food in a timely manner following proper food handling/preparation regulations and guidelines. Maintenance of guest schedules and preparation of menu for meal sheets. Knowledge of appropriate food quantities given estimated guest attendance. Ability to determine amount and type of food in adequate time for preparation. Purchasing of necessary ingredients and supplies to prepare meals. Orders food and snacks, paper products and other products pertaining to kitchen. Keeps dining area and kitchen clean, sanitary and orderly. This includes the washing of dishes, cleaning of equipment and general housekeeping duties. Other duties as assigned Requirements High School diploma; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of federal, state, and local governmental regulations pertaining to food handling and preparation. Valid driver's license. Ability to lift/unload food and supplies Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely. Preferences Training and experience in cooking for large groups. First Aid, CPR & AED certification and blood borne pathogen training
