Seasonal (with potential for extension) ⸻ About the Role We are looking for a skilled, reliable, and energetic Food Truck Cook to join our team for the busy season. This role combines responsibilities of a Head Cook, Prep Cook, and Front-of-House team member, requiring someone who is confident in running a small kitchen while also delivering excellent customer service and handling transactions in a fast-paced food truck environment. ⸻ Key Responsibilities Cooking & Service (Head Cook Duties): Prepare and cook a variety of Mexican dishes (e.g., tacos, burritos, quesadillas, salsas, meats) Oversee daily food truck operations during service hours Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation of all menu items Manage cooking times to ensure fast, efficient service during peak hours Monitor food inventory and communicate supply needs Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards Food Prep (Prep Cook Duties): Chop vegetables, marinate meats, and prepare sauces/salsas in advance Portion and organize ingredients for daily service Assist with loading/unloading supplies for the food truck Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary prep area Follow recipes and prep lists accuratelyCustomer Service & Sales Duties:
Greet customers in a friendly, welcoming manner Take accurate food and drink orders Operate POS system and handle cash/card transactions Answer menu questions and make recommendations Maintain professionalism during busy or high-pressure periods Ensure order accuracy and resolve minor customer concerns promptly Keep service window area clean and organized ⸻Qualifications Required:
1-3+ years of cooking experience (Mexican cuisine preferred) Experience in a fast-paced kitchen, food truck, or similar environment Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices Basic customer service experience (food service or retail preferred) Comfortable handling cash and digital payment systems Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure Comfortable working in a small, confined space Reliable, punctual, and able to work a consistent 5-day schedule Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbsPreferred:
