Job Description

Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals in accordance with menus, special diets, and food safety standards Assist in food prep, portioning, and plating during meal service Set up, serve, and clear resident dining areas Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment Maintain clean and sanitary food prep, serving, and storage areas Follow dietary orders and food texture modifications (e.g., diabetic, mechanical soft, pureed) Monitor kitchen inventory and communicate needs to supervisor Ensure timely meal delivery and provide courteous, respectful service to residents Qualifications Previous experience in cooking or food service preferred, especially in senior care or healthcare Must have or be able to obtain a valid Oregon Food Handler's Card Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations Ability to follow recipes, dietary guidelines, and resident meal preferences Strong teamwork and communication skills Physically able to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs Dependable, detail-oriented, and compassionate toward older adults Schedule & Compensation Shifts vary and may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays Hourly wage is based on experience Opportunities for cross-training and advancement Why Join McKay Creek?
