The wage is for the cook is $20 an hour. The tip share is 25% to the bartender and 75% to the cook. We are the only sports bar for cricket fans in the United States. We don't ONLY show cricket, but we ALWAYS show cricket, as its on at least one tv whenever we're open. Given we're in Portland, we've gotten a lot more soccer fans than cricket fans thus far, and show lots of women's sports in a variety of leagues. We call ourselves "British-ish," as we don't do enough to be an authentic English Pub but definitely have British influence. We typically have 1 bartender and 1 cook on every shift. Sometimes we'll send the cook home early and operate from a late night menu made by the bartender on slow nights. Other times we'll have a third person helping out for events and games we expect to be busy. Often that's a manager so they can do administrative work if the turnout is less than we expect. Every cook needs to be a prep cook. We open at 4pm on weekdays but don't get many customers until the dinner rush at 6pm, and the cook will be expected to prep cook to prepare for that rush, especially considering our current menu includes many parbaked items like pasties and sausage rolls.
