Job Description
Position Title:
Cook - Italian Cuisine Specialist We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook specializing in Italian cuisine to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience preparing authentic Italian dishes, maintaining high food quality standards, and working efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of Italian dishes, including pasta, sauces, pizzas, risottos, seafood, meat entrées, and traditional Italian appetizers.
- Follow established recipes and presentation standards to ensure consistency and quality.
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, portioning, and storing food items properly.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, and inventory levels.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with cooks to ensure timely preparation of meals.
- Assist with menu development and daily specials as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience preparing Italian cuisine in a restaurant setting.
- Knowledge of traditional Italian cooking techniques, ingredients, and recipes.
- Ability to prepare fresh pasta, sauces, and other Italian specialties.
- Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen sanitation practices.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
- Culinary school training is a plus but not required.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with pizza preparation.
- Knowledge of Italian cuisine.
- Ability to work efficiently during high-volume service periods.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
