Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dietary Cook to join our compassionate healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assist in preparing, serving, and maintaining nutritious meals tailored to the dietary needs of our residents or patients. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming dining environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on the well-being of our geriatric or healthcare facility residents while developing valuable skills in food service and dietary support. All roles are paid positions, emphasizing the importance of your contribution to our team's success. Responsibilities Assist with meal preparation and food production in accordance with dietary guidelines and safety standards Serve meals to residents or patients with courtesy, professionalism, and attention to individual dietary requirements Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas, including proper food handling and storage practices Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to workplace safety protocols and PPE use Follow manual handling procedures for heavy lifting and safe lifting practices during food transport or equipment use Work collaboratively with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to accommodate special diets and nutritional needs Qualifications Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospital, or food industry settings is highly desirable Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and JCAHO perfered but not required. Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment, food preparation techniques, and meal service procedures Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment Ability to work with geriatric patients or individuals with special dietary needs with compassion and professionalism Basic math skills for portion control, inventory management, and meal planning Physical ability for manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and standing for extended periods Serve Safe Required Join us in creating a warm, safe, and nourishing environment where every meal is an opportunity to care. Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour
