Full-time Benefits Next Day Pay Lifetime Employee Discount Program Free Meals During Shift Health, Dental & Vision Insurance Paid Time Off (PTO) 401(k) Retirement Plan Tuition Reimbursement Program Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Job Summary The Dietary Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving nutritious meals in accordance with established menus, dietary requirements, and sanitation standards. This role also supports kitchen operations, maintains food safety practices, and assists in supervising dietary staff to ensure quality service. Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals in accordance with approved menus, dietary plans, and facility standards Ensure all food is presented in an appetizing and consistent manner Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures at all times Monitor portion control and minimize waste Assist with ordering, inventory, and stocking of food supplies Maintain cleanliness and safety of kitchen equipment and work areas Review dietary requirements and support special diet preparation as needed Supervise and support Dietary Aides and other kitchen staff when assigned Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or incidents promptly Participate in staff meetings, training, and ongoing education programs Assist with kitchen opening/closing duties, cleaning schedules, and daily operations Maintain confidentiality of resident information and comply with all workplace policies Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Previous experience in institutional or high-volume cooking preferred Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards Ability to follow recipes, menus, and dietary guidelines accurately Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work collaboratively with team members and other departments Must be able to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodation
