  • Part-time Please apply via our website: hello@hareshillbrewingco.com The position of Prep Cook/Line Cook will assist in the preparation of delicious dishes in the kitchen. The position will require routine kitchen tasks such as, but not limited to, setting up workstations and ingredients, so that food can be prepared according to recipe requirements. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties.
  • Properly Date, Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible.
  • Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking.
  • Check the quality and freshness of ingredients.
  • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, etc.
  • Preparing high quality meals and food items according to company recipes.
  • Bake, grill, steam and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry and other foods.
  • Present, garnish and arrange final dishes.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment and dishes.
  • Storing excess food at the correct temperature to avoid spoilage.
  • Ensuring food portions and food presentation meet company standards.
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as broilers, ovens, grills and fryers.
  • Provide constructive and professional communication with servers regarding incorrect or improperly cooked orders.
  • Assist other cooks to ensure that food orders are completed in a timely manner.
  • Execute opening and closing procedures.
  • Participate and professionally represent restaurant (and other locations of owners) at local Food/Beer Events (optional).
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. (Degree/Certification in hospitality is a plus).
  • Ability to be to be quick and diligent with willingness to improve on the job.
  • Great active listening skills.
  • Ability and willingness to collaborate.
  • Knowledge of food service regulations and proper food handling procedures.
  • Sound knowledge of cooking methods and techniques.
  • ServSafe food handling certification is a plus.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment as part of a team.
  • Ability to work daytime, weekdays, weekends, and evenings.
Working Conditions Must be able to climb stairs, stand for long periods of time, squat from standing position and daily use of use of hands for carrying items and typing. Physical effort/lifting up to 50 pounds.
