Owners / Kitchen Manager/ Hot side Cook on Duty in the absence of the Kitchen Manager and Owners. Position Summary The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients and assisting in basic cooking tasks to support efficient kitchen operations. This role ensures that all food is prepped, portioned, and ready for service while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and quality. Key Responsibilities Food preparation and basic cooking Wash, peel, cut, and portion fruits, vegetables, meats, and other ingredients Prepare basic food items such as sauces, dressings, and simple dishes Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes Label and store food properly following food safety guidelines Maintain a clean and organized workstation at all times Assist line cooks and chefs during service as needed preparing main dishes and other menu items Monitor inventory and notify management of shortages Follow all health and sanitation regulations Quality control: Verify food quality, flavor and presentation before service Problem solving: address service issues, resolve customer concerns when reported by front of house staff, ensure good coordination between yourself and the front of the house and other kitchen staff. Follow instruction, policies and maintain consistency set by the owners/management Qualifications Previous kitchen or food prep experience preferred but not required Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices Strong attention to detail and organization Ability to follow instructions and recipes accurately Team-oriented with good communication skills, non-confrontational. Physical Requirements Ability to work in a fast-paced, high stress environment, often standing for long periods of time and handling 10 plus hour work days. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., particularly when unpacking the food truck deliveries. Comfortable working in a hot, fast-paced, high stress kitchen environment Work Schedule Flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
