Responsibilities Prepare and cook a variety of short order meals efficiently, maintaining consistency in taste and presentation Follow standardized recipes, portion controls, and food safety guidelines to ensure quality and safety standards are met Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and assembling ingredients with precision using proper knife skills Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment sanitation and proper storage of ingredients Assist with menu planning by suggesting daily specials or modifications based on available ingredients or customer preferences Ensure timely delivery of orders to guests while maintaining high levels of customer service Adhere to all food handling regulations and safety protocols to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety compliance Experience Proven experience as a short order cook or in a similar fast-paced kitchen environment, preferably within diners or casual eateries Strong culinary skills with knowledge of food preparation techniques across various cuisines Experience in menu planning, meal preparation, and food presentation Familiarity with food safety standards, handling procedures, and sanitation practices in the food industry Previous restaurant experience demonstrating proficiency in cooking under pressure while maintaining quality standards Knowledge of dietary department practices or dietary aide experience is a plus but not required Excellent knife skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask efficiently in busy settings Join us if you're passionate about creating delicious meals quickly while delivering exceptional service.
