Love kids? Why not combine the two? Join the team at Rainbow's End Learning Center, a part of PathWays, where every meal helps fuel learning, laughter, and growing minds! We're looking for a caring, dependable Cook who enjoys preparing nutritious meals and being part of a fun, supportive childcare environment. This is a part-time position, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM, with holidays off. As our Cook, you'll do more than prepare breakfast, lunch, and snacks, you'll become an important part of each child's day. From serving healthy meals to sharing smiles during lunchtime, you'll help create a warm, safe, and welcoming environment for children ages 6 weeks through school age. Some of your responsibilities will include: Preparing, organizing, and serving nutritious meals and snacks for children and special program activities Following approved cycle menus and all health, safety, and nutrition regulations Accommodating children's special dietary needs and allergies Maintaining food inventory and submitting supply requests Keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and inspection-ready Supporting classroom staff as needed, including providing break coverage Assisting with basic childcare needs when needed, including hygiene, dressing, and other daily routines Being a positive role model and interacting with children throughout the day Adapting to changing program needs, staffing, and enrollment We're Looking For Someone Who Enjoys preparing healthy meals Loves working around children Is organized, dependable, and flexible Takes pride in maintaining a clean and safe kitchen Works well as part of a team Believes every child deserves a caring, nurturing environment
Qualifications Required:
High School Diploma or GED Minimum of 2 years (or 2,500 documented hours) working with children CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain and maintain) Ability to complete all required pre-employment clearances, including: Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Clearance FBI Clearance PA Child Abuse Clearance National Sex Offender Registry Clearance Additional state/FBI clearances if required by residency history Health assessment and Mantoux tuberculin skin test upon hire (and every two years thereafter)
Preferred:
Two years of cooking, food preparation, or nutrition experience Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to: Lift and move up to 30 pounds independently (heavier items with assistance) Stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and move throughout the day Participate in active childcare, including running, climbing, reaching, lifting, and assisting children as needed Maintain the physical stamina needed in a fast-paced childcare environment Make a Difference Every Day At Rainbows End Learning Center, every role matters.
