Provided About Alaska West Lodge Alaska West Lodge sits on the lower Kanektok River in Western Alaska—a legendary fishery known for its world-class salmon, trout, and adventure. We host passionate anglers from all over the world who come for the fishing, the camaraderie, and the comfort that comes from good food in a rugged, remote setting. Position Overview We're looking for a capable, hardworking cook who thrives in a team environment and knows that good food fuels great days on the water. This role is hands-on and fast-paced. You'll prepare meals for guests and staff, manage kitchen organization, and help keep morale high around the dining table. Key Responsibilities- Prepare and serve daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner for guests and staff (approx. 20-25 people).
- Plan menus that balance comfort food classics with creative flair using available ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards in a remote kitchen environment.
- Manage food inventory, storage, and ordering (supported by lodge management).
- Collaborate with guides and staff to ensure mealtimes sync smoothly with fishing schedules.
- Maintain a great attitude, even during long remote days—team spirit is key! Qualifications
- Previous cooking experience (lodges, catering, or camp cooking preferred).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to adapt to a remote setting with limited supplies and changing conditions.
- Enthusiastic, positive, and ready to contribute beyond the kitchen when needed. What We Offer
