Position Summary The Line Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to club recipes, presentation standards, and food-safety requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth and timely food service.
Salary:
Salary is commensurate with experience. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook food according to established recipes and presentation standards. Work assigned stations including grill, sauté, fry, pantry, or other kitchen stations as needed. Complete daily food preparation, including cutting, portioning, seasoning, and cooking ingredients. Maintain proper food quality, temperature, portion control, and presentation. Prepare meals for member dining, private events, weddings, golf outings, and banquets. Assist with banquet and special-event food production. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout the shift. Follow all Rhode Island food-safety and sanitation requirements. Properly store, label, date, and rotate food products using FIFO procedures. Monitor food inventory and communicate shortages or quality concerns to the Chef. Minimize food waste while maintaining quality and portion standards. Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties. Properly clean and sanitize cooking equipment, work surfaces, utensils, and kitchen areas. Work effectively as part of a professional culinary team. Follow all company and club policies and procedures. Perform other kitchen duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Previous line-cook or professional kitchen experience preferred. Country club, restaurant, hotel, catering, or banquet experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of basic cooking techniques. Ability to work multiple kitchen stations. Ability to read and follow recipes and preparation instructions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality. Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods. Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift kitchen supplies as required. Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation procedures. ServSafe certification is preferred but not required.
