Full Job Description Summary:
The Line Cook position requires a candidate with a strong background in food preparation & handling, cooking, catering, and experience working in a fast-paced, high volume, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate should have experience in a kitchen environment, possess excellent knife skills and communication skills, understands the importance of proper sanitation and hygiene, and is familiar with meal preparation and plating. Additionally, experience with food allergies/sensitivities and menu planning would be advantageous. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, communicate effectively, and prioritize tasks is paramount and essential for success in this role. Experience in catering and experience with a wide array of cuisines would also be beneficial. The Line Cook will be responsible for ensuring food safety, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and contributing to the development of our menu and rotating specials. Duties Associated with the Line Cook role:
  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards
  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
  • Ensure that food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality standards
  • Follow proper food handling and safety procedures
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Assist with menu planning and development
  • Ability to work well and communicated effectively with others
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operation
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a line cook or in a similar role
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures
Skills:
  • Menu planning
  • Cooking skills
  • Experience working in a kitchen environment
  • Catering experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of food service industry standards
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and procedures
  • familiarity with food allergies and how to accommodate them is crucially important as well
  • Previous experience as a dietary aide or in a dietary department is beneficial for this role
