Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of food handling and safety practices. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, preparing ingredients and assisting in the creation of delicious dishes that meet our high standards. Responsibilities Prepare and chop ingredients according to recipes and specifications. Assist in the preparation of sauces, dressings, and other culinary components. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the highest standards of hygiene. Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying supervisors of shortages. Operate kitchen equipment safely, including knives, slicers, and mixers. Collaborate with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation. Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food as needed. Experience Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred. Familiarity with food handling and safety regulations is essential. Experience as a dietary aide or in catering can be beneficial. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting. Strong knife skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques are highly valued. A positive attitude, teamwork mentality, and willingness to learn are key attributes for success in this role.
