In this role, you will prepare nutritious, appetizing meals for our residents while ensuring compliance with dietary restrictions, food safety standards, and sanitation requirements. The Cook is responsible for managing kitchen operations in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor and helping create a positive dining experience for our residents. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines Ensure meals are prepared according to physician-ordered diets and nutritional requirements Assist with food preparation, portioning, and meal service Monitor food quality, temperature, and presentation Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen and food preparation areas Follow all food safety regulations and infection control procedures Properly store food and supplies according to regulatory standards Assist with inventory management and food rotation procedures Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Support Dietary Aides and other dietary team members as needed Maintain accurate records related to food safety and kitchen operations Manage kitchen operations in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum of one year of cooking experience in a hospital, healthcare, rehabilitation, or long-term care setting Knowledge of therapeutic diets and food preparation standards preferred Strong organizational and time-management skills Licenses & Certifications Must obtain and maintain a ServSafe Certification Knowledge and experience with PointClickCare (PCC) preferred Must remain in good standing with the Department of Public Health We are an equal opportunity employer.
