Line Cook/Prep Cook Position The Line Cook works with a team to provide excellent, delicious, and consistently prepared food in a fast-paced environment. The Line Cook/Prep Cook can proficiently cook recipes at each of five stations as well as prep all ingredients. Food safety and ServSafe procedures are of the utmost importance and each Line Cook is very familiar with these regulations. This team member maintains a great attitude during stressful, busy kitchen shifts as well as assist fellow line cooks as they are able. Great service, great attitude and great teamwork are key traits to this employee.
Job Activities:
Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies Prepare food for service and ensure Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff Clean up station and take care of leftover food Stock inventory appropriately Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers' Requirements Completing Temperature logs and Check Lists for daily and weekly cleaning and maintenance tasks. Participates in all roles in the kitchen as required, including dish when needed.
Skills and Abilities:
Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef/prep cook. Familiarity and fluency in kitchen terminology Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks Familiar with industry's best practices Willingness to pursue ServSafe certification within twelve months of employment
