Duties Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality. Assist in menu planning by providing input on ingredient selection and dish presentation. Handle food with care, following strict food safety and sanitation guidelines to prevent contamination. Execute food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients efficiently. Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts to ensure a safe kitchen environment. Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food and coordinating timely service. Serve dishes promptly, ensuring proper presentation and adherence to customer requests or dietary needs. Experience Previous experience in a food industry setting such as restaurants, catering, or hospitality is highly valued. Demonstrated culinary experience with proficiency in cooking techniques, knife skills, and meal preparation. Familiarity with food handling procedures, safety protocols, and sanitation standards is essential. Experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide enhances understanding of specialized meal requirements. Knowledge of menu planning and food service operations supports efficient kitchen workflow. Strong background in kitchen experience within the restaurant or food service industry is preferred.
