Cook Harmony Care at Giddings 1181 North Williamson Street, Giddings, TX 78942 $6.50 a week - Full-time $6.50 a week -
Full-time Position Summary:
The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, appetizing meals for residents in accordance with physician orders, dietary requirements, facility policies, and food safety standards. The Cook ensures meals are prepared on time and maintains a clean and sanitary kitchen environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and dietary requirements. Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines. Prepare special diets as ordered by physicians and dietitians. Ensure meals are served on schedule and at appropriate temperatures. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, work areas, and food storage areas. Monitor food inventory and notify the Dietary Manager of supply needs. Properly store, label, and rotate food items. Follow infection control, food safety, and sanitation regulations. Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries. Work cooperatively with dietary staff and other departments. Report equipment malfunctions and safety concerns promptly. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous cooking experience in a healthcare, long-term care, restaurant, or institutional setting preferred. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to read and follow recipes and production sheets. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable attendance and punctuality required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
