In this dual-support role, you will prepare orders accurately during peak service, keep the kitchen stocked with freshly prepped ingredients, and maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety at all times. Whether working the line or supporting prep, you will play a critical role in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and delivering high-quality food to our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Line Cooking & Service Prepare, cook, and plate menu items accurately and efficiently according to recipe standards and order tickets. Maintain speed of service and quality control during high-volume rush periods. Ensure all items served meet temperature, portion control, and presentation guidelines. Assist the prep cook with ingredient preparation during downtime on the line. Prep & Kitchen Support Prepare high-quality ingredients for daily service, including trimming and marinating chicken, portioning and forming burgers, making house-made sauces, and chopping vegetables. Monitor prep inventory to keep workstations continuously stocked before and during service shifts. Jump on the line to support cooking operations during high-volume periods. Kitchen Sanitation & Maintenance Clean, sanitize, and maintain workstations, cooking equipment, utensils, and food storage areas continuously throughout every shift. Adhere strictly to local health department guidelines, food safety standards, and personal hygiene protocols. Label, date, and properly store all raw and prepped food items to ensure maximum freshness and minimize waste. Perform opening, mid-shift, and closing cleaning checklists (sweeping, mopping, trash removal, deep cleaning equipment).
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
Prior experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or Kitchen Assistant in a restaurant environment preferred.
Food Safety:
Knowledge of basic food safety, handling, and prep techniques (Food Handler Certification preferred or required upon hire).
Skills:
Strong knife skills, ability to operate standard kitchen equipment safely, and clear communication skills in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen setting.
