Position Summary:

The Line Cook / Prep Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality food in a timely, efficient, and sanitary manner. This position supports kitchen operations by executing recipes, maintaining prep levels, and ensuring cleanliness and safety throughout all food preparation areas. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and works well under pressure in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen environment.

Essential Duties:

Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and quality standards. Assist with daily food preparation, including chopping, slicing, mixing, and portioning ingredients. Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies. Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, and mixers safely and effectively. Follow food safety standards and health department guidelines, including proper food handling, labeling, and storage procedures. Maintain a clean and organized workstation at all times. Assist with cleaning and sanitation of kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils. Monitor food temperatures and ensure items are cooked and held at proper temperatures. Alert management to low stock levels or equipment issues. Assist with unloading deliveries and organizing food and supplies in proper storage areas. Follow all safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Complete other duties as assigned by the General Manager or Kitchen Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age. Previous kitchen, prep, or line cook experience preferred. Ability to read and follow standardized recipes and instructions. Understanding of basic food safety and kitchen sanitation practices. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

Must be able to stand for extended periods and work in hot, fast-paced kitchen environments. Frequently required to walk, reach, bend, stoop, and lift. Must be able to lift or move items up to 50 pounds. Exposure to sharp utensils, hot surfaces, and cleaning chemicals.
