Job Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Cook to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic kitchen environment, supporting the Head Cook in delivering high-quality meals. Successful candidates will demonstrate a passion for cooking, an ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting, and a commitment to maintaining high food safety standards.

Probationary Period:

A one-month probationary period applies upon hire to ensure the right fit for both parties.

Key Responsibilities Food Preparation & Cooking:

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods, using techniques such as baking, roasting, grilling, boiling, and frying, following recipes and presentation standards.

Kitchen Setup & Cleanup:

Organize and maintain workstation readiness; perform cleaning tasks, including washing dishes, wiping counters, and maintaining a tidy kitchen environment.

Food Safety & Storage:

Ensure compliance with food safety standards, monitor food temperatures, and store ingredients in line with sanitation guidelines.

Meal Presentation:

Plate dishes with attention to detail, adhering to recipe and presentation standards.

Ingredient Preparation:

Wash, unwrap, weigh, chop, portion, and store fresh ingredients as needed for daily operations.

Kitchen Operations:

Operate stoves, grills, fryers, ovens, and other kitchen equipment efficiently and safely.

Sanitation:

Wash and sanitize tools, knives, tables, and utensils to uphold cleanliness and organization.

Quality Control:

Test foods to confirm proper cooking and flavor quality.

Qualifications & Skills Experience:

Minimum of 3 months in a kitchen or restaurant environment.

Work Ethic:

Responsible, reliable, and serious about the role.

Adaptability:

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Food Safety Knowledge:

Familiarity with food safety guidelines and kitchen equipment usage.

Physical Requirements:

Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and working on your feet for extended periods.

Soft Skills:

Strong organizational and communication skills, with an ability to follow instructions accurately.
