JOB SUMMARY
The Cook will recommend, prepare, and assist with the menu items, assist with the requisition of food and supplies, and operate and maintain kitchen equipment.
ESSENTIAL TASKS/DUTIES
(This list is a succinct summary of core duties only. Other tasks will be assigned) 1. Stock the cafeteria with eating, serving, and cooking utensils, equipment, and supplies. 2. Prepares food in standardized recipes, as well as for specialized dietary needs. 3. Operates, cleans, and maintains cooking equipment. 4. Advises department director of needed equipment maintenance. 5. Serves food to patients and customers. 6. Attends to the cash register and the charge book. 7. Prepare, season, cook, and serve assigned meals. 8. Checks and inspects food products and supplies. 9. Ensures an appropriate inventory of supplies and submits order requests to the supervisor. 10. Monitors food preparation, portion sizes, taste, and appearance to maintain compliance with health regulations and quality standards. 11.Rotating shifts, float and fill as needed. 12. Other duties as assigned.
