Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking an organized and dependable Child Care Cook to join our team, committed to providing nutritious, appealing, and balanced meals for children in our care. Must be willing to follow Child and Adult Care food program guidelines for meal planning, portions and documentation. This institution is an equal opportunity provider. Responsibilities Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks tailored to children's dietary requirements, following approved menus and safety standards Handle food preparation tasks including chopping, mixing, portioning, and cooking using proper knife skills and food handling techniques Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas, adhering strictly to food safety regulations and hygiene protocols Assist in serving meals in a friendly manner that promotes positive mealtime experiences for children Manage inventory by monitoring stock levels, rotating supplies, and ordering ingredients as needed to ensure freshness and availability Collaborate with staff to accommodate special dietary needs or allergies, ensuring all meals are safe and suitable for every child. Qualifications Food handlers permit. ( Or ability to obtain before starting.) Experience in food preparation preferred. Reliable attendance and punctuality.
