Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated, reliable, and safety-focused Preschool Cook to join our early childhood education team. Our school is committed to providing nutritious meals that support children's growth, health, and development, and we're looking for someone who takes pride in preparing quality food while maintaining a safe, organized kitchen. As our Preschool Cook, you'll play an essential role in ensuring children receive healthy meals and snacks prepared with care, consistency, and attention to detail. What You'll Do Prepare nutritious, age-appropriate meals and snacks according to approved menus and portion guidelines. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen in compliance with state licensing requirements and food safety regulations. Receive, store, label, and rotate food inventory using proper food handling practices. Accurately accommodate food allergies, dietary restrictions, and special meal requests. Monitor kitchen supplies and communicate inventory needs to school leadership. Complete required food service documentation and maintain compliance with health and sanitation standards. Collaborate with school staff to create a positive mealtime experience for children. Support a welcoming, respectful, and team-oriented school environment. What We're Looking For Must be at least 18 years of age and meet all applicable state licensing requirements. Previous experience in food preparation, meal service, or kitchen operations preferred. Experience in a childcare, school, healthcare, or commercial kitchen is a plus. Current Food Handler Certification or the ability to obtain one upon hire. Knowledge of safe food preparation, storage, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently. Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food quality. Authorized to work in the United States.
