Description:
Maple Grove Nursing and Rehab Center is hiring a Part-Time Cook to join our dietary team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys preparing quality meals in a setting where the work feels personal and meaningful. In this role, you will help support the dining experience for our residents by preparing meals with consistency, care, and attention to dietary guidelines. This position is a strong fit for someone looking for something different from a fast food environment. Rather than rushing through drive-thru volume, this role focuses on preparing meals that support resident health, comfort, and quality of life. You will work as part of a healthcare team, follow established menus and dietary needs, and help create a dining experience that is dependable, thoughtful, and service-oriented.

Part-Time, Weekdays, Weekends, Days & Evenings, 8
Hour Shifts Pay Rate:
$13 per hour Essential Functions Demonstrates commitment to Kissito Healthcare and its mission. Prepares and helps serve all culinary dishes (i.e., entrees, salads and desserts) for lunch, and/or dinner. Documents information related to food production, quality, food safety and fulfillment of nutritional requirements of the residents. Maintains kitchen and storage areas in sanitary and organized condition and according to policies and procedures. Collaborates with team members and supports routine and special events with culinary services. Participates as a team member to ensure the culinary goals are met. Follows all safety and infection control policies and practices as mandated by the State of Virginia. Works assigned schedule with dependability. Attends meetings and completes in-service training as scheduled. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by the supervisor. We are seeking someone dependable, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen setting. Candidates with food service experience are welcome, and experience in healthcare, senior living, or a skilled nursing environment is a plus. A strong understanding of food safety, cleanliness, and consistency is important in this role.
Requirements:
Part-Time Benefits Regular part-time employees are eligible for paid time off (PTO), which begins accruing from the first day worked. PTO for hourly employees accrues each pay period based on total hours worked. Physical Requirements Stand for extended periods while preparing, plating, and serving meals Sit, stand, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, stretch, and twist as needed throughout the shift Lift and carry pots, pans, trays, and food containers up to 20 pounds Safely use kitchen utensils and equipment Work around heat, cleaning chemicals, and other conditions common to a healthcare kitchen Maintain regular attendance and timeliness
