In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing delicious, nutritious, and visually appealing lunch meals in a fast-paced environment. Your culinary expertise will help ensure that every meal meets high standards of food safety, quality, and presentation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your cooking skills while contributing to a positive dining experience for our guests and staff alike. Duties Prepare and cook lunch meals according to established recipes, menus, and dietary guidelines, ensuring consistency and quality. Operate various kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, poaching stations, braising pots, and food production machinery safely and efficiently. Follow strict food safety sanitizing procedures to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment. Assist with menu planning by suggesting new recipes or modifications based on dietary needs and preferences. Handle food preparation tasks including chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients with precision using proper knife skills. Ensure all food handling practices comply with health regulations and safety standards to prevent contamination. Support high-volume food production during busy lunch hours while maintaining attention to detail and quality control. Collaborate with dietary department staff to meet specific dietary restrictions or special meal requests. Maintain accurate records of food inventory, storage conditions, and sanitation logs for compliance purposes. Requirements Proven experience in food service or culinary roles, preferably with dietary aide or dietary department background. Strong knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures in a commercial kitchen setting. Demonstrated skill in cooking techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and meal preparation for large groups. Experience operating kitchen equipment including ovens, grills, food processors, and other culinary tools. Familiarity with menu planning and recipe adherence to ensure consistency across meals. Ability to work efficiently in high-volume production environments while maintaining quality standards. Excellent knife skills and proficiency in food handling procedures aligned with health regulations. Prior restaurant or catering experience is highly desirable; fine dining experience is a plus.
