The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry and a passion for meal preparation. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly while delivering high-quality meals to our residents. Your expertise in food safety and cooking techniques will contribute to the overall success of our dietary department. Responsibilities Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety standards and regulations. Assist in menu planning and recipe development to enhance meal offerings. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment and washing dishes as needed. Operate kitchen equipment safely, including knives, ovens, and grills. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed. Provide support to the dietary aide team in fulfilling special dietary requests. Requirements Previous experience in a cook or food service role within a restaurant or dietary department is preferred. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. Proficient knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team. A passion for cooking and helping others through food preparation. Open availability.
