Job Description

We are looking for an additional kitchen staff member to add to our team. This is a Full Time position schedule 03:00/3:30 PM - 11:00/11:30 PM. There will be two days off per week, must have 7 day availability. The pay rate starts at $19.50/hour and goes up to $20.00/hour after one year. No experience necessary. We are looking for someone that loves food and service as much as we do. Who wants to join our hotel family. And who will cook dishes that will delight our guests with their taste and timely delivery. As a Cook you are part of the kitchen team. You must be able to follow instructions in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals. You must be deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking. Experience using various ingredients and cooking techniques is preferred. And most importantly, use your own creativity and passion to help preserve and enhance our reputation so we can expand our clientele.

This is a rangeless kitchen, which means we have no open flames. Strive to ensure proper food preparation within the kitchen including quality, production, and cleanliness. Oversee production for line operation. Organize and transfer food items into containers as needed, label and date for proper use and identification. Assist in the proper utilization of excess food products for lowest possible attainable food cost. Conduct daily walk through of all walk-in refrigerators, storage rooms, and food lines to ensure proper utilization of product, rotation, cleanliness and proper sanitation. Prepare food as required. Complete all assigned paperwork accurately and timely. Assist in directing and correcting the presentation and portioning of food according to hotel's standards. Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment Ensuring that the kitchen and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained. Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen Ensure all food and other items are stored properly Check the quality of ingredients
WHAT YOU BRING
If you are ready to be successful in this role, you will have: Proven experience as a cook is preferred Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware Ability to follow all sanitation procedures Detail-oriented attitude & a committed work-ethic Friendly customer service skills Ability to communicate effectively in English to perform job duties Maintain current food handlers permit or willing to renew or obtain one (Washington State Food Worker Card) You must be at least 18 years old Expectations We don't expect you to have hospitality experience in general, but we do expect you to: Have a drive to learn the menu. Ask questions as much as possible, because this is how you learn!
