•Need a Part time Cook for our Community• "Position requires every other weekend 7am-7pm and every other holiday. Hours also available during the week between the hours of 7am-7pm depending on schedule needs. Hours total weekly around 24 hours"
Job Overview:
Aspen Acres is seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our Assisted Living Community. As a Cook , you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious and appetising meals for our residents in accordance with dietary guidelines and resident preferences. Your role is essential in promoting a positive dining experience and contributing to the overall well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Meal Preparation:
Plan, prepare, and cook meals according to the established menus and dietary requirements. Ensure meals are palatable, visually appealing, and served at the appropriate temperatures. Modify recipes and menus to accommodate specific dietary needs and preferences of residents.
Food Safety and Sanitation:
Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment. Regularly inspect kitchen equipment and appliances to ensure proper functioning. Follow proper procedures for food storage, handling, and disposal.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels and order food and supplies as needed. Maintain accurate records of food usage and waste. Assist in receiving and verifying deliveries of food and supplies.
Team Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and dietary aides. Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and management to ensure smooth operations. Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
Resident Interaction:
Engage with residents to understand their dietary preferences and special requests. Provide excellent customer service to ensure a positive dining experience. Address and resolve any resident concerns related to meals.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience as a cook in a healthcare, assisted living, or similar environment preferred. Knowledge of dietary guidelines and restrictions for elderly populations. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
