Job Summary:
Performs all duties related to the production of hot and cold food items for hospital patients, staff and visitors, special functions, and baking. Monitor the quality of items produced, closely working with hot and cold food production to deliver the highest standards of product to our customers daily. Follows standardized recipes and production sheets, and assures that food is produced in accordance to established sanitation and food safety standards. Maintains quality standards in cooking methods, procedures and therapeutic restrictions for all diets, presentation and portion control.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION
A minimum of 1 year of food service cooking experience or any combination of years in food service experience with a Culinary Degree. Line cook experience with hot food preparation is preferred.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION
Culinary Arts degree preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION
Ability to read and write necessary to comprehend and follow equipment operating instructions, IFUs and complete required documentation. Basic arithmetic calculations necessary to count instruments and complete count sheets are required. Basic computer, problem-solving and good communication skills are required.
