Job Overview The Wisconsin Heights School District is seeking a dedicated Food Service Cook for the 2026-2027 school year. Shift hours run from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This role involves supporting the school's meal program by assisting in meal preparation and service, maintaining production records, processing meal transactions using student ID numbers, and ensuring proper cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment. Located just 20 minutes west of, in the scenic, the district covers approximately 100 square miles across and Mazomanie region, offering a vibrant community environment. The Food Service Cook will play a vital role in providing nutritious meals to students and staff, contributing to a positive school experience. Responsibilities Assist in preparing and serving meals according to established recipes and safety standards Processing meal transactions using student ID numbers during meal service Maintain detailed production records to ensure compliance with nutritional guidelines and district policies Ensure cleanliness of dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment through proper cleaning procedures Care for and maintain kitchen appliances and equipment to ensure safety and functionality Follow food safety protocols and sanitation standards at all times Support team members in daily kitchen operations to promote an efficient work environment Contribute to a positive dining experience for students by providing friendly and professional service Skills Basic knowledge of food preparation, safety, and sanitation standards Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for record keeping Good communication skills for working with team members and serving students Ability to follow instructions accurately and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within the school food service setting Prior experience in food service or cooking is preferred but not required; training will be provided as needed This position offers an opportunity to be part of a supportive educational community dedicated to student well-being through nutritious meals.
