POSITION SUMMARY
The cook is responsible for monthly menu preparation, assisting with purchases of food supplies, cooks and serves meals. The cook will be certified by the Department of Health in Food Management and maintain certificate during the time of employment with Comforts of Home Senior Living. The cook is responsible for sanitary conditions as required by the WI Department of Health and is knowledgeable on Heath Department inspections. Most importantly, the cook is responsible for providing quality meals to the residents of Comforts of Home Senior Living. Knowledge of dietary budgeting and staying within budget is a must. The cook must be flexible, willing to prepare home cooked meals with creativity and resourcefulness. Some direction and instruction to care givers is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare monthly menu Assist House Manager with food orders Organize, clean, and maintain sanitary conditions in the kitchen Prepare three daily meals as well as snacks for residents Maintain knowledge of residents' special dietary needs or likes/dislikes. Instructs care givers on proper sanitary regulations Instructs care givers on setting tables, serving residents, clearing dishes, loading and running dishwasher Stays within set budget on all food orders and purchases Meet with residents periodically to assess food preferences Prepare and track guest meals Communicate detailed instructions to staff for evening and weekend meals and baking Interact with residents and observe food and liquid intake Work with House Manager on food preparation/service for special events Maintain confidentiality of residents personal and medical information I understand my routine work schedule may be adjusted to assist with Resident needs.
