Cook Responsibilities:
Meal Preparation:
Follows standardized recipes, ensure meals are visually appealing, palatable, and plated in a professional looking manner, while keeping in accordance with sanitation regulations. Prepare everything on the menu for your shift and prep food for the next shift.
Meal Cooking:
Cook and prepare meals according to therapeutic and modified textures. Must be able to follow a dietary spreadsheet and read recipes/meal tickets to ensure proper distribution. Maintain proper portion control.
Cleaning:
Maintain a clean kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and removing trash.
Food Storage:
Ensures food and other items are stocked and stored properly.
Reporting:
Report any maintenance or repair issues to the appropriate supervisor.
Resident Interaction:
Be polite and helpful to residents, responding to their requests and inquiries promptly and professionally.
Compliance:
Adhere to all safety and sanitation policies and procedures. Comply with the Residents' Rights and Community Policies and Procedures. Follow the Federal Food Code, Local regulator laws, and any other regulations that adhere to CMS guidelines.
Teamwork:
Collaborate with other staff to ensure efficient and thorough cleaning of all areas assigned. Maintain a professional relationship with co-workers & other staff.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma Previous cooking experience. Experience using a combi-oven, standard oven, flat top grill, convection oven, stove top, gas grill, steamer, and dishwasher. Ability to pass a TB Test and Healthcare background check. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time. Physical stamina and the ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and irregular hours as needed. Ability to get to and from work reliably when scheduled.
