Open Hand - Kitchen Tavern Social | Portage, WI Open Hand is looking for an experienced cook to take a leading role in our kitchen. We're building a clean, organized, positive kitchen and want someone who takes pride in their food and wants an opportunity to help shape what we become. What You'll Do Lead the kitchen during service and work hands-on alongside the team Maintain consistent food quality, portions, and presentation Keep the kitchen clean, organized, stocked, and prepared Help train and support other kitchen staff Manage prep and help control food waste Help develop weekly specials and new menu items Bring ideas for improving the kitchen and menu What We're Looking For Professional kitchen experience Reliable, organized, and able to handle a rush Positive and supportive attitude Willing to work with and help other staff members Strong cleanliness and food-safety habits Someone who takes ownership rather than waiting to be told what to do Creative Freedom We want this person to have real creative input. Depending on your interest and ability, you can have significant creative authority over specials and new menu items. Show that you can create great food while considering food cost, pricing, kitchen capacity, and what customers actually want, and we'll give you room to run with it. This is a great opportunity for an experienced cook who wants more responsibility and creative freedom without having to own the restaurant.
Schedule:
Primarily evenings; Friday and Saturday availability important
