Food Service Apply Description Position Summary:
Person in this position will assist in the provision of meals. Essential Job Functions include those listed below. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Essential Job Functions:
Prepare all meals in accordance with approved menus, meeting mealtime schedules. Record client/staff meal census. Maintain high (Health Department) standards, cleanliness, sanitation, including the wearing of gloves and/or hairnets and/or caps at all time within food preparation and serving areas. Prepare requisitions for food and commodities as needed. Receive and store all deliveries properly. Assure that equipment is in good operating condition and that temperatures are within proper standards. Be constantly aware of fire and safety hazards. Report repair/maintenance needs to supervisor. Label, date, and store all left-overs in accordance with safe food handling requirements. Maintain professional standards at all times with food preparation and handling, as well as maintaining a high level of good housekeeping. Maintain current inventory on all commodities and stored goods. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some possible evenings and weekends. Complete documentation of services, if required, on provided forms in a timely manner. Assist other WestCare staff as needed in a collaborative manner to promote cooperation and portray a professional image to the community. Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of WestCare Foundation. Other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications Essential Qualifications:
Per West Virginia state regulations, must be at least 21 years of age One year experience in institutional food service. Ability to work collaboratively with others in a manner that is pleasant and professional. Certified Food Handler Certification or ability to acquire within 90 days (i.,e.: ServeSafe). Ability to work well in a team environment. Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion. Ability to operate a computer and complete documents in Microsoft Word program formats or the ability to learn. Ability to respond as needed to crisis situations in an efficient manner. Ability to follow directives, complete work tasks within scheduled work hours. Good verbal and written communication skills.
Education:
Minimum High school diploma or GED and 2 (two) years experience in a food service setting.
