Job Description
The Cook is responsible for the coordination of meals and snacks prepared and served at YHS, the completion of menu planning and inventory maintenance, and some assigned classroom coverage. This position is under the direct supervision of Home Ties Child Development Center Director. The successful candidate must have a High School Diploma or GED, be at least 18 years old, have or be willing to obtain a food handler's card, have or be willing to obtain First Aid & CPR certification, and be able to lift/move up to 50lbs. Experience preferred, but not required includes: planning menus in compliance with USDA program regulations, maintaining/managing inventory, preparing meals for large groups, maintaining assigned paperwork, maintaining a work environment in compliance with health code requirements, and the ability to respond appropriately to special nutrition needs. The successful candidate for this position should be open/receptive to feedback from senior staff, be comfortable interacting with children of all ages, have good time management and communication skills, as well as basic computer skills.
