Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Shop Hand and be an essential part of our Heavy Equipment Repair company. This energetic role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your hands-on skills and attention to detail will shine. As a Shop Hand, you will assist with vehicle cleaning, exterior and interior detailing, general shop upkeep, parts and materials runs as requested by the Shop Foreman to ensure our facility maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and quality and support for the mechanics is prioritized. This paid position is perfect for motivated individuals eager to develop their skills while contributing to a vibrant team. Responsibilities Perform vehicle exterior washing, interior cleaning, and detailing of company owned equipment as well as exterior and some interior cleaning of customer units. Operate some power tools as necessary for small projects and cleaning needs Handle heavy lifting and move vehicles or equipment around the shop safely Maintain a clean and organized repair facility and yard space, including janitorial duties as needed Run to different vendor locations or the company warehouse to pickup parts and materials as designated by the Shop Foreman Follow safe work practices at all times, adhering to safety protocols and using proper protective gear Shovel snow and keep walkways/yard clear where needed and sanded Skills Good driving skills Attention to detail and ability to follow directions Ability to use cleaning equipment, pressure washer, power tools, etc Strong customer service skills to interact professionally with clients and vendors when needed Prior shop hand/yard helper experience preferred Physical ability for heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and performing laborous work efficiently
