Job Description
Essential Duties & Responsibilities We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and motivated individual to join our collision repair team as a Porter / Detailer / General Shop Helper . This is a hands-on position that plays an important role in keeping the shop clean, organized, and running efficiently. The ideal candidate is dependable, takes pride in their work, pays attention to detail, and is willing to jump in wherever help is needed. Duties will include moving vehicles, washing and detailing vehicles, maintaining the shop and lot, assisting technicians and staff, and performing general tasks to support daily operations. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesVehicle Porter Duties Safely move customer and company vehicles throughout the facility and parking areas. Maintain an organized parking lot and ensure vehicles are parked in designated locations. Assist with vehicle check-in and delivery preparation. Keep vehicle keys organized and accounted for. Assist with transporting vehicles to and from designated locations when necessary. Perform pre-washes and vehicle preparation as needed. Inspect vehicles for obvious damage or concerns and report them to management. Detailing Duties Wash and dry vehicle exteriors. Vacuum and clean vehicle interiors. Clean windows, mirrors, dashboards, door panels, consoles, carpets, and other interior surfaces. Remove dust, dirt, compound residue, fingerprints, and debris from repaired vehicles. Clean wheels, tires, door jambs, trunk areas, and other areas as needed. Apply approved detailing products and tire dressing. Perform final clean-up and presentation of vehicles prior to customer delivery. Complete a final cleanliness check to ensure vehicles meet company standards. General Shop Help Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment. Empty trash and keep work areas, parking lots, and common areas clean. Assist with moving parts, equipment, and materials. Help receive, organize, and dispose of parts and packaging materials. Assist technicians, estimators, detailers, and management with general tasks as needed. Run occasional errands or pick up parts and supplies. Help maintain shop equipment and notify management of damaged or unsafe equipment. Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment. Perform other duties as assigned to support the daily operations of the collision repair facility. Qualifications Valid driver's license with a good driving record. Ability to safely drive and move a variety of vehicles; manual transmission experience is a plus. Previous experience in automotive, collision repair, detailing, car washing, or general labor is preferred but not required. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently. Positive attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed. Ability to work well as part of a team. Must be able to maintain a professional appearance and represent the company positively.
