Full-Time Paint Apprentice / Detailer (Hybrid Role)

Pay Range:
$18•24/hour (DOE) Position Overview This is a multi-functional, entry-to-mid-level role ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in the collision repair industry. As a paint apprentice/detailer, you will support both the paint department and final delivery process, while also assisting with general shop operations. This position is designed for individuals who are detail-oriented, hands-on, and eager to learn all aspects of the refinish and detailing process. Job Description Detailing & Final Delivery Perform full interior and exterior vehicle detailing prior to customer delivery (washing, waxing, polishing, upholstery cleaning) Conduct final quality checks to ensure repairs meet company standards Maintain cleanliness of shop, office, and work areas Paint Prep & Shop Support Prepare vehicles for paint by sanding, masking, and priming surfaces Assist painters with daily operations and workflow Ensure panels are properly prepped and free of defects before paint Maintain paint booth cleanliness and equipment Follow OEM procedures and safety standards General Shop Assistance Support technicians and production team as needed Move vehicles and assist with staging Maintain organized and safe workspace Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Willingness to learn and grow within the collision repair industry Valid driver's license and clean driving record Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and remain active throughout the workday Ability to read and understand work orders, estimates, and instructions Effective communication skills and ability to follow direction Previous automotive, detailing, or body shop experience is a plus, but not required Must be at least 18 years of age Core Values Alignment Our ideal candidate embodies Kniesel's core values: WOW Customer Service Integrity Humility Family The Golden Rule Quality What We Offer Competitive hourly pay ($18•24 DOE) Career growth and advancement opportunities within the Kniesel's Collision organization Hands-on training in paint and refinishing processes Free ICAR training State-of-the-art facility and equipment Supportive, team-driven culture Start Your Career with iCrash Collision If you're looking to get your foot in the door in the collision repair industry and grow into a skilled paint or body technician, this is the opportunity for you.
