Lower Rio Grande Valley D Weslaco, TX Job Details Full-time $13.31 - $15.00 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Customer communication Customer inquiry handling Full Job Description This position is responsible for cleaning and detailing the interior and exterior of all transit vehicles and assuring that vehicles are clean and ready for departure. Maintaining wash bay area clean and organized. Duties involve working with a number of Motor Vehicle Technicians to provide the help needed. Works under close supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. The Vehicle Service Attendant reports directly to the Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor. Responsible for vehicle preparation to ensure vehicle is ready for departure. Conducts cleaning, waxing, polishing, and refurbishing of transit fleet vehicles. Uses necessary equipment for cleaning and servicing of vehicles. Reports any damage to the program supervisor. Maintaining the proper function of all service tools and equipment. Check for vehicle damage and ensure features of the vehicles are operational. Provides support to Maintenance staff to ensure shop and safety compliance. Wash exterior of vehicles. Ensures wash bay area is clean and in working order. Maintains and tracks inventory of cleaning materials. Ensures interior of vehicle is clean by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, taking out trash, etc. Ensures units are safe by conducting inspection of potential risks (broken windows, door jams, trunk, etc) Supports mechanics and Maintenance shop by coordinating parts and equipment delivery. Fuels transit fleet vehicles. Performs other such related duties as may be assigned.
Knowledge of:
office practices and administrative procedures.
Skill:
in the use of office equipment, computers.
Ability to:
respond to public inquiries in a timely manner and to communicate effectively. Ability to repeatedly step up/down, stoop, bend, reach up/down and work with cleaning chemicals. The ability to communicate in English and Spanish is preferred. Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is generally preferred. Experience and education may be substituted for one another. Certificates and Licenses Required Valid/Current Texas Driver's License, preferred Commercial Driver's License.
