Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Practices proper time reporting (i.e., clock in and out). Arrives to work on time, dressed and ready to work. Is neat and well-groomed for every shift and in immaculate and proper work attire. Demonstrates the ambassador spirit at all times to Guests and Staff Members. Understands and adheres to all safety, sanitation, and administrative procedures. Provides complete and timely communication to other Staff Members throughout the shift. Is prepared to conduct weekly maintenance duties. Shift:
Assembles the dish machine by replacing arms, screens, and baskets to prepare the machine for washing dishes. Sets up and stocks stations with clean plates and utensils. Assists prep Staff Members by washing and pulling vegetables or assembling food items as needed. Assists other Staff Members as needed. During the
Shift:
Gathers dirty dishes from the cook, prep, and bus stations and carries them to the dish area. Checks water temperature during dishwashing cycle to ensure dishes are being cleaned at the proper temperature. Refills dish machine cleanser (e.g., detergent rinse agent) to maximize dishwasher effectiveness. Keeps dishwasher, dish water, floor, and counters clean. Removes dishes from bus tubs, scrapes leftover food into food bins, and organizes dishes on racks for cleaning. Cleans and sanitizes dishes, glassware, pots, pans, storage racks, and utensils by running them through the dish machine or by hand washing using water, towels, and cleaning solution. Cleans and sanitizes bus tubs with soap and water. Visually inspects dishes and glassware for food debris and reruns dirty dishes and glassware through the dish machine to ensure thorough cleaning. Places clean dishes on racks in an organized fashion to minimize breakage and facilitate return of dishes to stations. Carries clean dishes to their designated locations to ensure clean supplies are available. Sweeps floor around station to remove debris and maintain safety standards. Removes garbage from the kitchen and transports it to the dumpster to maintain cleanliness. Stocks and cleans restrooms using chemicals and cleaning procedures, removes garbage, and replaces garbage can liners. Scrubs down and rinses garbage cans and replaces garbage can liners throughout the restaurant. Maintains exterior of building, parking lot, and landscaping as needed (e.g., sweeping, scrubbing walls).
End of Shift:
Cleans floors, floor mats, and shelves in the dish area using the appropriate cleaning solutions to maintain a clean and safe work area. Disassembles dish machine by removing and cleaning arms, screens, and baskets. Removes garbage bags from food bins and transports bags from the kitchen and dish area to dumpsters to maintain cleanliness. Re-lines garbage cans with plastic bags to prepare for the next shift. Checks out with a manager before leaving to ensure all duties and side work have been completed and performed to standard.
Minimum Requirements:
Ability to understand and follow directions from others. Ability to bend at the waist and lift items up to 50 lbs. to waist level. Ability to bend and reach above head, holding up to 10 lbs. Ability to move items up to 50 lbs. for distances of up to 25 feet. Ability to remain standing and active for an 8-12-hour shift. Ability to tolerate exposure to cold (below 0 degrees F) and hot (above 140 degrees F) temperatures at times throughout the shift. Ability to see, hear, understand, and respond to Staff Members' requests in a loud environment. Skill and coordination in lifting and carrying tubs and trays of dishes. Ability to tolerate exposure to cleaning agents and chemicals several times throughout the shift.
