This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop foundational skills in food handling, preparation, and service within a vibrant food industry setting. Duties Thoroughly wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to uphold high standards of cleanliness and food safety. Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, and portioning items for service. Support the kitchen team by organizing supplies, restocking stations, and maintaining a tidy work environment. Handle food items carefully to prevent cross-contamination and ensure proper storage according to safety protocols. Follow all health regulations related to food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures during meal prep and service. Aid in meal assembly for catering events or daily service, ensuring timely delivery of quality dishes. Collaborate with culinary staff to support menu planning efforts by preparing ingredients as needed. Requirements Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable. Experience working in food service, restaurant kitchens, or the food industry is preferred. Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques is essential. Strong knife skills and familiarity with basic cooking methods will enhance your effectiveness in this role. Ability to perform meal preparation tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. A positive attitude and willingness to learn new culinary skills are key to success here.
