This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop culinary skills while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting. Responsibilities Prepare ingredients according to recipes and menu specifications, including slicing, dicing, and portioning food items using proper knife skills and slicing techniques Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, blenders, ovens, and dishwashers safely and efficiently Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste in accordance with food safety standards Support the culinary team with food prep tasks to ensure timely meal production and presentation Follow food handling procedures to uphold safety standards in production and prevent cross-contamination Assist with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying staff of stock levels or shortages Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and uphold recipe adherence Experience Previous food service experience in a restaurant or catering environment preferred but not required Dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with food safety management and meal planning Knowledge of kitchen safety standards, including proper use of knives, slicing techniques, and operating kitchen equipment Experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles that emphasize attention to detail and cleanliness Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and support team efforts in a fast-paced setting Familiarity with food industry best practices related to food handling, safety standards in production, and sanitation protocols Join us to be part of a lively team dedicated to quality service!
