We offer a friendly, low-stress work environment, and many of our employees have been with us for over 10 years. Who We're Looking For We're looking for a reliable and punctual team member interested in Japanese cuisine. This is an entry-level position, so previous restaurant experience is not required. Experience with food preparation or food handling is a plus. A California Food Handler Card will be required after training. Responsibilities Washing dishes Keeping the kitchen and work area clean and sanitary Learning basic food preparation and proper food storage Assisting with preparing customer orders as you become trained Following food safety and handling guidelines Schedule We offer flexible scheduling for both part-time and full-time employees. Shifts are generally 3:00 or 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM, Monday through Saturday. Pay Starting at $16.90 per hour. Opportunities for Advancement There is room to grow for employees who are interested in learning more about Japanese cuisine. Based on performance and interest, you may have the opportunity to advance to a kitchen cook position. You can learn to prepare customer orders, cut and prep vegetables and meats, prepare rice, salads, and other ingredients, and work efficiently during busy periods. There may also be opportunities to learn other areas of Japanese cuisine, including sushi preparation and tempura.
