In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe food preparation environment while assisting with basic food prep tasks. Your dedication ensures that our kitchen operates at its best, delivering quality meals and exceptional service to our guests. Responsibilities Thoroughly wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to uphold cleanliness standards. Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients following established recipes and safety guidelines. Maintain a clean work area by sanitizing surfaces, sinks, and storage areas regularly. Operate kitchen equipment safely, including dishwashers, slicers, mixers, and other small appliances. Support the culinary team with meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service. Follow strict food safety protocols related to food handling, storage, and sanitation to prevent contamination. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate cleaning schedules and prep activities for smooth operations. Experience Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates. Experience working in a restaurant or food service environment is highly advantageous. Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation enhances your ability to contribute effectively. Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and proper food handling techniques is essential. Skills in knife handling, slicing techniques, and general culinary practices are beneficial for supporting food prep tasks. Demonstrated ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently is important for maintaining a productive workspace. Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate with kitchen staff ensure seamless teamwork during busy periods.
