In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, preparing ingredients for meal service, and supporting the culinary team with food handling and basic food preparation tasks. Your dedication ensures that our kitchen operates smoothly, safely, and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of our food service operation. Duties Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards. Assist in food preparation by slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients following established recipes and safety guidelines. Support meal assembly and plating processes to ensure timely service delivery. Maintain cleanliness of workstations, floors, and storage areas through regular cleaning routines. Operate kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, slicers, mixers, and ovens safely and efficiently. Follow food safety protocols including proper food handling, storage, and temperature control to prevent contamination. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow during busy service periods. Requirements Previous experience in dietary departments or food service environments is preferred. Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation techniques, and culinary practices is highly desirable. Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, slicers, and cooking appliances. Strong understanding of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures. Ability to perform cleaning duties thoroughly while maintaining safety standards in the kitchen. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and support team members. Basic knife skills including slicing techniques are advantageous; experience in catering or restaurant settings is a plus.
