Duties Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and safety. Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients following recipe guidelines. Support meal preparation by assembling ingredients and assisting cooks with basic cooking tasks. Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen environment by cleaning workstations, floors, and storage areas regularly. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including dishwashers, slicers, mixers, and other culinary tools. Follow food safety protocols in handling ingredients and maintaining proper storage conditions. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food prep activities and ensure timely service. Skills Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of food handling safety standards and food safety management practices. Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques. Proficiency in operating various kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, slicers, knives, and cooking appliances. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with kitchen staff and supporting team efforts. Familiarity with cleaning procedures specific to food industry environments to maintain hygiene standards. Ability to follow slicing techniques, knife skills, and proper food prep methods for efficient meal assembly.
