Responsibilities Thoroughly wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment using commercial dishwashing machines or manual cleaning methods to ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are met. Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, portioning ingredients, and assembling simple menu items to support kitchen operations. Maintain a clean and organized work area by regularly sanitizing surfaces, sinks, and storage spaces in accordance with food safety procedures. Support bussing duties by clearing tables, removing trash, and ensuring dining areas are tidy for guests. Follow all food safety sanitizing procedures to prevent cross-contamination and uphold health regulations. Handle manual tasks such as lifting heavy pots, boxes of supplies, or bulk ingredients safely while adhering to proper lifting techniques. Operate kitchen equipment like dishwashers, slicers, or mixers with proper training to ensure safe usage at all times. Assist in maintaining overall kitchen health and safety standards by reporting hazards or maintenance needs promptly. Qualifications Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key! Knowledge of food handling practices and sanitation procedures aligned with food safety management standards. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking during shifts. Familiarity with operating basic kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, knives (knife skills), or prep tools is advantageous. Strong attention to detail in cleaning routines and food preparation processes. Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting kitchen staff and restaurant operations.
